Rio Nishimori

生まれは奈良県で、8歳の時にアメリカ人の父の出身地、シアトルへ家族が引っ越すことになった。大学まではシアトルのままで、卒業後また日本に住みたいと思い22歳で楽天グループ株式会社に入社。その10年後、結婚したからか、子供が生まれたからか、単純に30代になったからか、気づいたら人生の生き方についてより深く、真剣に考えるようになっていた。 たった一人の凡人だが、世間にはポジティブなインパクトを与えることができるはず。 そこで、転職活動を開始。なかなか納得する会社が見つからなかったが、ようやくFlatt Securityと巡り合うことができた。社長との最終面接は自分の価値を会社に納得させたと言うよりは、社長に夢を語られてその素晴らしさに惚れて入社が決定という形だった。 でもやはり凡人は凡人です。仕事はちゃんと適度に切り上げて、子供と散歩したり、だらだらゲームしたり、大きな夢なんか忘れて早寝遅起きしてます。 I was born in Nara, but my family moved to Seattle, the city my father is from, when I was eight. I decided to move back to Japan when I graduated college and found an opportunity at Rakuten. Fast forward ten years, and whether it’s because I’m now married, have a daughter, or simply because I’m in my thirties, I’ve noticed myself thinking increasingly deeper and seriously about life. I may just be another man in the street, but that does not mean I can’t make a positive impact to humanity. And there started my hunt for a new job. It took a while to find a company that satisfied my vision, but in the end my path finally crossed with Flatt Security’s. In the final interview with the CEO, instead of selling myself with my skillset, it ended with me being sold on his company through his stories of noble aspirations. Yet I’m still just another man in the street. I end my workdays as I see fit, go on walks with my daughter, lounge around playing games, and forget about large dreams and sleep in in the mornings. I’m just another man in the street.
